Yesterday, 9to5Mac shared renders of the upcoming 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, which is said to include some minor design updates compared to the iPhone 14 Plus. The images were based on CAD drawings of the devices that were provided to Apple’s supply chain for device manufacturing.
The main design feature of the iPhone 15 Plus is a Dynamic Island instead of a notch, which Apple is bringing to its entire iPhone lineup in 2023. There are also rumored to be slightly slimmer bezels than the iPhone 14 Plus, as well as minor tweaks to the size and thickness of the device. The iPhone 15 Plus CAD design is said to feature “slightly rounded edges” for a smoother transition from the front to the back of the device and a slightly thicker camera bump.
The iPhone 15 Plus is expected to be identical in design and feature set to the iPhone 15. It will include a dual-lens camera with Wide and Ultra Wide lenses, the A16 chip that is in the iPhone 14 Pro models, and a Qualcomm X70 modem. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Plus will have a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port.
The main difference between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is battery size. The iPhone 15 Plus is 6.7 inches, while the iPhone 15 is 6.1 inches. Rumored color options include blue and pink.
Overall, the iPhone 15 Plus looks to be an upgrade to the iPhone 14 Plus, thanks to a dynamic island, slimmer bezels, and a USB-C port. Additionally, more information on the iPhone 15 can be found in our dedicated roundup.
