On the evening of March 8, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the southern province of Surigao del Norte.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 23:06 at 8 March. The epicenter is about 38km northwest of Burgos in the depth of 16km.
Initially the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology announced, the magnitude 6.4 earthquake after fixing to 6.2 richter. The earthquake aftershocks can also be felt in many areas of the southern Philippines.
There have been no reports of casualties and damage after the earthquake.
